Definition: The single-screw pump, often celebrated as a helical rotor pump or mono pump, is a distinguished member of the rotary positive-displacement pump family. This ingenious device transports liquids through the clever volumetric interplay between its screw and bushing, ensuring seamless liquid transfer from the suction to the discharge chambers.
Composition: At the heart of this technological marvel are its essential working components: a bushing (stator) with an elegantly crafted double-helix cavity, and a single-helix screw that harmoniously meshes with the stator cavity for optimal performance.

Working Principle

The screw features a single-start thread, with any cross-section forming a perfect circle of radius R. This circle's center is positioned along the helix, intentionally offset by an eccentricity e from the screw's axis, creating a mesmerizing spiral as it rotates and moves axially.
The bushing's inner surface boasts a sophisticated double-thread design. Each cross-section presents an oblong circle, with semicircles of radius R (matching the screw's cross-section radius) on each end and a straight line of length 4e in between, ensuring precise compatibility.
Upon installation of the screw within the bushing, a series of closed chambers elegantly form between their surfaces. Each cross-section divides into two crescent-shaped working chambers. As the screw rotates, the first chamber near the suction gradually enlarges, creating a vacuum that draws in liquid. With continuous rotation, the chamber seals and propels the liquid axially towards the discharge. Simultaneously, the alternating upper and lower chambers ensure a continuous flow of liquid from suction to discharge, orchestrating a seamless axial transfer.
