Definition: The single-screw pump, often referred to as a helical rotor or mono pump, is an innovative marvel within the rotary positive-displacement pump family. It masterfully transports liquids by harnessing the dynamic volumetric interplay between the screw and the bushing within its suction and discharge chambers.
Composition: Central to its operation are the intricately designed components—comprising a bushing (stator) with a gracefully crafted double-helix cavity, and a single-helix screw that elegantly meshes with the stator cavity.

Working Principle

The screw is ingeniously crafted with a single-start thread. Each cross-section unveils a perfect circle, boasting a radius R. The center of this cross-section is positioned on a helix, artistically deviating from the screw's axis by an eccentricity e, forming a captivating spiral as it rotates along the axis, moving axially.
The bushing's inner surface is adorned with a double-thread. Each cross-section reveals an oblong circle, embellished with semicircles of radius R (matching the screw's cross-section radius) at both ends, and a striking straight-line segment measuring 4e in the middle.
Once the screw is nestled within the bushing, closed chambers form between the screw's surface and the bushing's inner-thread surface, each cross-section splitting into two crescent-shaped working chambers. As the screw rotates, the first chamber adjacent to the suction chamber expands, creating a vacuum. The resulting pressure differential draws liquid into this chamber. As rotation continues, the chamber reaches its maximum volume, sealing, and propelling the liquid axially towards the discharge chamber. Meanwhile, the upper and lower working chambers alternate in a fluid dance of suction and discharge, ensuring a seamless flow of liquid from suction to discharge.
