Definition: Discover the remarkable capabilities of the single-screw pump, a marvel in rotary positive-displacement pump technology, also known as a helical rotor pump or mono pump. This ingenious device efficiently transports liquids by leveraging the volumetric changes that occur between the screw and the bushing within the suction and discharge chambers.
Composition: At the heart of its operation are the key components: a bushing (stator) featuring a sophisticated double-helix cavity, and a single-helix screw seamlessly meshing with the stator cavity. This intricate design ensures optimal functionality and precision.

Working Principle

The screw is engineered with a single-start thread, presenting any cross-section as a perfect circle with a radius R. The center of each cross-section elegantly resides on the helix, deviating slightly from the screw's axis by an eccentricity e, forming an exquisite spiral shape as it rotates around the axis while moving axially.
The inner surface of the bushing showcases a double-thread design. Any cross-section reveals an artful oblong circle, featuring semicircles at both ends with a radius R, matching the screw's cross-section radius, and a straight-line segment of length 4e at the center.
Upon installation of the screw within the bushing, closed chambers come into existence between the screw surface and the inner-thread surface of the bushing. Each cross-section is neatly divided into two crescent-shaped working chambers. As the screw rotates, the volume of the chamber closest to the suction chamber expands, generating negative pressure. This pressure difference efficiently draws the liquid into the working chamber. With continuous screw rotation, the chamber volume reaches its peak, closes, and propels the liquid axially towards the discharge chamber. Simultaneously, the upper and lower working chambers alternate in sucking and discharging liquids, ensuring a seamless flow from the suction chamber to the discharge chamber along the axial path.

This feature empowers the removal of corrosive media, making it ideally suited for distillation, drying, and degassing in chemical and pharmaceutical applications.
The extracted gas is expelled directly from the pump body without environmental pressure, facilitating convenient recovery of gas solvents.
Effortless cleaning is a hallmark of this pump. When dirt infiltrates the pump chamber, simply open the suction and exhaust ports. Start the pump, introduce an appropriate amount of water or cleaning agent via the suction port, and clean the pump efficiently without the need for disassembly.
