Definition: Introducing the single-screw pump, a marvel of engineering also known as a helical rotor pump or mono pump. This rotary positive-displacement pump is your ultimate solution for transporting liquids seamlessly. It operates by ingeniously utilizing the volumetric interplay between the screw and the bushing within the suction and discharge chambers, ensuring a consistent and reliable flow.
Composition: At the heart of its sophisticated design are the principal working components: a bushing (stator) crafted with a double-helix cavity, and a single-helix screw that intricately meshes with this stator cavity. This harmonious interaction forms the backbone of its efficient operation.

Working Principle

In the spotlight is the screw, featuring a single-start thread. Any cross-section reveals a perfect circle with a radius R. The center of this cross-section elegantly traces the helix, maintaining an eccentricity e away from the screw's axis, creating a mesmerizing spiral shape that rotates around its axis while advancing axially.
The bushing's inner surface boasts a double-thread. Any cross-section takes the form of an oblong circle, with semicircles of radius R gracing both ends, and a straight line segment stretching 4e in the middle. This unique design harmonizes with the screw to form an efficient pumping mechanism.
Upon installation, the screw and bushing create sealed chambers between their surfaces. Any cross-section splits into two crescent-shaped working chambers. As the screw spins, the volume of the first chamber near the suction chamber expands, establishing a negative pressure. This pressure difference draws liquid into the chamber. As the screw rotates further, the chamber reaches maximum volume, closes, and pushes the liquid axially towards the discharge chamber. Meanwhile, the upper and lower working chambers alternate in sucking and discharging, ensuring a continuous flow of liquid from suction to discharge along the axial path.
