Definition: The Single Screw Pump, also known as a helical rotor pump or mono pump, stands out in the rotary positive-displacement pump category. It masterfully transports liquids by harnessing the volumetric interplay between the screw and bushing across the suction and discharge chambers.
Composition: At its core are the pivotal working components: a bushing (stator) featuring a double-helix cavity and a precisely engineered single-helix screw that meshes seamlessly with the stator cavity.

Working Principle

The screw is designed with a single-start thread, where any cross-section forms a complete circle with a radius R. The center of this cross-section is positioned on the helix, deviating from the screw's axis by an eccentricity e, creating a mesmerizing spiral shape as it rotates axially.
The bushing's inner surface boasts a double-thread design. Each cross-section is an elegant oblong circle, flanked by semicircles with radius R (matching the screw's cross-section radius) at both ends and connected by a straight segment of length 4e.
Upon installation of the screw within the bushing, closed chambers elegantly form between the screw surface and the bushing's inner-thread surface. Here, any cross-section is divided into two crescent-shaped working chambers. As the screw rotates, the volume of the initial chamber near the suction chamber expands, creating a beneficial negative pressure. This pressure differential ensures the liquid is efficiently drawn into the chamber. As rotation continues and the chamber volume peaks, it closes, facilitating the axial push of liquid towards the discharge chamber. Simultaneously, the upper and lower chambers work in harmony to alternately suction and discharge liquids, ensuring a continuous, smooth axial flow from suction to discharge.
